‘The idea was to create art people could wear.’
My designs are inspired by bits of Zimbabwe. I like to play with the negative spaces and edges found in the natural environment. This is seen in the gaps of my delicious monster leafs, the silhouettes from ancient bush paintings, and the organic edges of gravity defying balancing rocks.
I start with upcycled metal- either antique silver plate or scrap sheet base metal. I had draw, pierce, and shape each piece with my own hands.
