So I was able to catch sight of the little girl while I finished my ink drawing of the gate. The encounter was brief so I only got a single photograph. I would still like to get a large sketch as well. From experience working from a photo alone is not enough. The features flatten, one looses the experience of really looking, and it is hard to imagine different angles or positions. The good news is that it is better than nothing. Below is the painting right now. Hopefully I can wrap this piece up the coming week and begin stretching my next canvas. If I can start moving through painting once every two months it will be great improvement.
